Poetry Night: Miranda Pearson & Helen Mort

Espresso Library is honoured to host an extraordinary Poetry Reading event featuring award winning authors, Miranda Pearson and Helen Mort.

The Fire Extinguisher is Miranda Pearson’s fourth book of poetry. She is the author of three previous books of poetry: Prime, The Aviary, and Harbour. Harbour was shortlisted for the 2010 Dorothy Livesay prize. Her poems have been widely anthologized and published in literary journals. Born in England, Miranda currently lives in Vancouver, Canada.

Helen Mort was born in Sheffield. Her first collection ‘Division Street’ was shortlisted for the Costa Prize and the T.S. Eliot Prize and, in 2014, won the Fenton Aldeburgh Prize. She is the Douglas Caster Cultural Fellow at The University of Leeds where she is working on a second collection of poems and on ‘Poeta’, a collaboration with flamenco guitarist Samuel Moore: www.poetaflamenco.com
