Paintings by Emilie Jolley

by Emily Jolley, May 13th - July 13th

Emily’s paintings are objects to be lived with. They are intended to compliment and make the most of a space, alternately becoming part of the furniture and rewarding your attention as you spend time with them.

Emily is interested in the balance between the artist’s gestures and the nature of the materials used working together to form something compelling. Their making embraces disorder, fixing surprises and movement to a surface, though the effect is controlled and meditative.

Several of the works on show have been produced specifically for this exhibition and responding to the atmosphere of Espresso Library.

All work on show is for sale. Please speak to Espresso Library staff or contact Emily directly if you’re interested in giving a painting a good home or to discuss commissions
